BTEC LEVEL 3 EXTENDED DIPLOMA IN MUSIC

The Level 3 Extended Diploma in Music Performance at BAMM is designed to give students an immersive learning experience. This course aims to provide the skills and knowledge necessary for them to continue studying at higher education and helps them build a career as a performing musician.

MUSIC PERFORMANCE AT BAMM

Working with specialist tutors, you will be given access to a wealth of knowledge with interactive lectures, tutorials, workshops and masterclasses. This provides you with the foundations to become a well rounded musician, ready to take on any situation you may come across once you leave BAMM.

 

Performance students are given access to our high end facilities, which includes our recording studios, rehearsal rooms, Apple MIT suite and fully equipped live performance stages. That means you’re able to write, practice, produce and perform all in one building, every time you’re at BAMM.

  • Duration 2 Years

  • Attendance Full-time

  • Qualification BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma

  • Awarding Body Pearson

  • UCAS Points Up to 168 (equivalent to 3 A levels)

  • Entry Requirements Five GCSEs graded 4-9

PLEASE NOTE

 

Students may be accepted on to the course who do not have the preferred academic requirements and each case will be treated individually.

Course Content

Four modules are taught within this 2-year course and will provide every student a foundation in a number of key areas in music performance and further afield.

 

These modules are:

  • Music Skills Development

    • Performing as an ensemble

    • Creating musical material

    • Using musical styles

  • The Music Industry

    • Planning a career in the industry

  • Personal Music Profile

    • Using development plans to refine skills

    • Producing a personal project

    • Using material for self-promotion and networking

  • Collaborative Music Project

    • Undertaking a defined technical project role

    • Using creative collaboration to develop a project

    • Producing a collaborative project

Course Costs

  • Ages 16-18 £0 (Fully-funded)

  • Ages 19+ £2800 (Per Annum)

WHERE CAN THIS COURSE TAKE ME?

Study Further

The Level 3 Extended Diploma in Music carries the same amount of UCAS points as three A levels. This qualification meets the admission requirements for many relevant courses, for example: 

• BMus (Hons) in Music (Performance)

• BA (Hons) in Music Technology and Production

• BA (Hons) in Creative Musicianship

• BA (Hons) in Digital Music and Sound Arts

• BMus (Hons) in Contemporary Music Performance

• BA (Hons) in Music Performance, Production and Composition.

Employability

Although many of our students go on to study music at a higher level, some are able to go straight into working within the industry. Examples of performance students who are now employed in music are:
